Eucerin Q10 – Can Anti-Wrinkle Creams Lead to Dry Skin?

Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Cream Overview

Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Cream

Eucerin® Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Lotion SPF 15 is a gentle, non-irritating way to reduce wrinkles and the signs of aging. Eucerin Q10 was designed as an anti-wrinkle alternative for those with dry skin. Many anti-wrinkle creams tighten the skin so that wrinkles will be reduced or eliminated. This usually leads to dry skin. For those who already have dry skin, further drying of the skin can cause your skin to be irritated. Eucerin Q10 moisturizes the skin rather than drying the skin out. The formula also includes SPF 15 to help protect the skin against premature aging caused by sun exposure.

Product Details

The active ingredients of Eucerin Q10 are titanium dioxide, coenzyme Q10, and Vitamin E. Vitamin E and broad spectrum sunscreen protect the skin against the damaging effects of environmental stress. Vitamin E is added as an antioxidant to rid the skin of damaging free radicals that accumulate. Free radicals are wastes and when they accumulate in the skin, they contribute to the aging effects of the skin. Titanium dioxide works as a sunscreen to protect the skin from damaging UV rays. Damage from the sun eventually causes the skin to look old and wrinkled and Eucerin Q10 fights this damage with SPF 15. Another active ingredient is Conezyme Q10, which is a natural enzyme. The amount of Q10 in the skin decreases with age and therefore the Coenzyme Q10 in Eucerin prevents the effects of the aging process by helping the formation of new cells. The formula for Eucerin Q10 Anti-Wrinkle Sensitive Skin Creme also contains moisturizers that help make the skin feel softer and smoother. There are no artificial fragrances so it is safe to use on sensitive skin. This product is non-comedogenic and it has a non-greasy feel.

Usage

Smooth over face and throat every morning and night after cleansing. It will visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles within 5 weeks.

Pros:

a. Eucerin is non-comedogenic and has a non-greasy feel.
b. It is an alternative for people with dry and sensitive skin.

Cons:

a. Visible results cannot be seen for at least 5 weeks.
b. This product contains parabens, which are artificial preservatives.

Recommendation

Eucerin Q10 is a great anti-wrinkle option for consumers with dry skin, however the natural ingredients of Organic Youth have the same moisturizing effects without the use of parabens. Parabens can be found as an artificial preservative in many anti-wrinkle products. Research conducted by the Environment Working Group has shown that parabens have a possible link to cancer, endocrine disruption, reproductive toxicity, immunotoxicity, neurotoxicity, and skin irritation. Parabens mimic, block, and disrupt the actions of human hormones and disrupt the body’s ability to produce the correct amount of hormones and disrupt the pathways. Organic Youth’s ingredients act as natural preservatives and therefore the creators at Pure Personal Products do not need to use chemical ingredients.

  1. Shana Mayfield says:

I would say that my experience with Eucerin Q10 was just okay. I wouldn’t say that it was greasy but there is something off about the texture that makes it really hard to put on under any kind of make up.

  2. Glenda V. says:

I have also tried a lot of different products. I have really sensitive skin and I tried using Eucerin Q10, and I really liked it because it didn’t dry out my skin. However, I found that it wasn’t really giving me the results I needed. I really wished they had given some type of money back guarantee.

  3. Cheryl says:

I agree with Shana. I think the best way to describe it would be pasty.
